In the summer of 2012, a quest to replace a worn-out gear shift knob in a newly purchased used car for my wife marked the inception of SHIFTIN. The car was perfect, except for one detail – a frayed, dull gear shift knob that lacked character and elegance, which she has to touch it every time she puts the car in gear. The search for a suitable replacement shift knob revealed a gap in the market for appealing, luxurious aftermarket shift knobs.
